Secret to Teaching Kids

With the fast pace of live, parents find it hard to spend quality time with their kids. Cooking is one solution – everyone’s got to eat and someone’s got to cook. Teaching kids while cooking is the secret. Cooking complements the formal methods of teaching children Just some basics about making cooking part of your daily lives and why it should be done with children The whole process of cooking in itself instills the sense of responsibility of the cook or the preparer – a meal needs to be prepared for the family or guest; Kids learn about fruits, vegetables and other food groups. What better way to teach nutrition while cooking   A short first aid lesson in when discussing the cuts, scrapes and burns that can result from inattention while cooking. Get the kids involved in shopping for the  ingredients which will give you and your child some quality time, While shopping you can teach kids about the importance of money management and budgeting   Creating menus will allow your child is just as much about some input Take the example of developing motor skills in kids. Kids develop motor skills through all sorts of ways. Cooking is perhaps the one absolute best for children to enhance their muscle coordination – from brain to toe. Learning from Wikipedia, motor skill is a learned series of movements that combine to produce a smooth, efficient action. Essentially, there are 2 elements to motor skills The first is gross motor skills -  which include the basics such as lifting one's head, rolling over, sitting up, balancing, crawling, and walking. Development also generally moves from top to bottom. The second is developing fine motor skills – this is about manipulating small objects, transfer objects from hand to hand, and various hand-eye coordination tasks. Some examples of fine motor skills are using the thumb and forefinger to pick up small objects, cutting, coloring, writing, or threading beads. Teaching children can come in different forms.  I am very excited about cooking and teaching kids and have been doing it every time I can with my 4 and 8 years old.
